  • What Can I Expect During a Consultation?
You will be listened to! Your first consultation for a chronic condition will usually be an hour. During the consultation, I develop a comprehensive overview of your health and medical history, family health history, your current health complaints and specific symptoms. As much as possible, we like to get to the cause of your health complaint, although we often have good results even when we can’t.
  • How Long Does Treatment Take?
With fertility - we work with couples for a maximum of 4 cycles (periods), as experience has shown that if you follow the program then if it is going to work for you, it should do so within 4 cycles.. For general health complaints - times vary depending on the nature of your complaint and the length of time you have been affected by it. Some people will notice an improvement from the very first dose, others within weeks, a few unresponsive cases may take months. Our goal is to resolve your health complaint and discharge you from our care.
  • How Often Will my Appointments Be?
For fertility - the apointments are monthly. For general health complaints - It is recommended that you have a follow up appointment within 2-4 weeks following your intial appointment, so we can assess your response to the remedy and make any necessary adjustments to the dose or occasionally the remedy. After that - monthly appointments until your health issue has been resolved. You are encouraged to contact me by phone (during business hours) or email if you have any questions or concerns between appointments.
  • Should I Stop Taking My Prescription Medication While Being Treated?
No - as your symptoms improve, you can discuss reducing your medications with your GP. Homoeopathic medicines do not interact with conventional medicines and they can be taken at the same time.
  • Why Use Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a natural form of medicine that prompts the body to restore balance and heal itself. It enhances the functioning of the immune system and can be used for a wide range of physical, mental and emotional conditions. Many people experience an increased feeling of wellbeing and energy levels along with resolution or significant improvement in their symptoms. It has more than a two hundred year history of clinical effectiveness and is used by 550 million proplr world-wide. The medicines are non-toxic, pleasant tasting, not tested on animals and are environmentally sustainable.
  • What is the difference between homeopathy and naturopathy?
Many people think they are the same, but they do differ. Naturopathy can be very effective for health issues caused by lifestyle factors - usually a person is treated with herbs, supplements and nutritional advice. Homeopathy is effective for health complaints caused by lifestyle issues, but can also be effective for health issues that have not responded to lifestyle changes - for example someone with chronic migraines maybe eating well, taking supplements, meditating, exercising, but still suffering from migraines. As a Homeopath, I will utilise a homeopathic medicine specially chosen for that person’s specific presentation of migraine, which can often lead them to being migraine free or at least with a significant reduction in pain, duration and frequency. Some Naturopaths may use homoeopathic remedies, but homeopathy is a specialist field and Homeopaths have had in depth training over many years. Make sure your Homoeopath is registered with the Australian Registrar of Homeopaths (AROH).
  • Do Homeopathic and Natural Medicines Work?
There has been a significant amount of research undertaken on natural therapies but it largely remains unrecognised by medical authorities. While skepticism of the effectiveness of small doses of medicine is understandable from one point of view – it ignores the large body of evidence from clinical reports, controlled trials epidemiological data from over 200 years. One of the main things to consider when choosing a health care approach is the level of risk and potential for side effects – it is often a safer option to start with natural medicine before moving onto higher risk options if required.
  • Is It the Placebo Effect?
Some claim natural medicine only works due to the placebo effect - i.e. the patient believes it will work and so the mind effects a cure. Placebo works to some extent in all forms of medicine. Someone sees the GP, talks about how they are feeling and gets an anti-depressant they may start to feel better straight away (although biochemically the medicine take a few weeks to start working). However homeopathic medicines are effective for animals and babies on which the placebo effect cannot operate. As an example the dairy industry in New Zealand often uses homeopathic remedies successfully to treat for cows with mastitis - belief has nothing to do with that!
  • What are Homeopathic Medicines?
Homeopathic medicines are made largely from mineral, plant and animal sources. They are prepared in a very specific manner at a homeopathic pharmacy and are not tested on animals. They are non-toxic and non-additive.
